Cairo will host in two days political consultation sessions with Sudan, headed by Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his Sudanese counterpart Ibrahim Ghandour.
Informed diplomatic sources said that the Egyptian-Sudanese political consultations will focus on bilateral issues between the two countries and means to end some economic problems they face, in addition to discussing the regional and international situations of common concern.
The consultations will discuss the results of meetings of the Egyptian-Sudanese Consular Committee, which was hosted by Cairo about a month ago and during which it was agreed to apply the principle of reciprocity in respect of entry visas and residency for citizens of the two countries, according to the same sources.
The political consultations will also discuss the situation regarding the implementation of the agreements and memorandums of understanding signed by the two sides during the meetings of the Egyptian-Sudanese High Joint Committee, held last October under the chairmanship of Presidents Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Omar al-Bashir, said the sources.
The meetings will focus on regional issues, especially the situation in Libya and Yemen, in addition to the situation in Africa in general.
The Sudanese government’s ban on the import of Egyptian agricultural and animal products will not affect the Sudanese meat supply agreement, in accordance to which Egypt should import 800,000 cattle within 3 years, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali Meselhy told Al-Masry Al-Youm.
