Court delays review of Mubarak’s appeal of communications blackout ruling

A court on Monday postponed its review of an appeal filed by Hosni Mubarak, the former president, against a ruling that convicted him and others of cutting off communication lines during the 25 January revolution.

The court postponed the session to 3 October.

The State Council's administrative court in May convicted Mubarak, former Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif and former Interior Minister Habib al-Adly of cutting communications services during the uprising.

The three were fined LE540 million.

Mubarak, Nazif and Adly claim they were not notified of the case in accordance with the law.

Mubarak's defense also claims the decision to cut communications was made by a committee of six ministers, including Adly.
