The Cairo Criminal Court resumed on Saturday the retrial of former president Hosni Mubarak, his interior minister Habib al-Adly and six former security officials over charges of murdering protesters during the 2011 uprising.
The court resumes on Saturday hearing the defense of former Cairo security chief Ismail al-Shaer.
On Thursday, the court heard the defense of former chiefs of the 6th of October and Giza, Omar al-Faramawy and Ossama al-Marasy.
At least 800 were killed during the uprising that ended Mubarak’s 30-year rule. The majority of officers at police stations across the republic had been acquitted of similar charges.
