
Defense Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ashraf Salem Zaher met with Congolese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs Guy Kabombo Muadiamvita to discuss regional developments and ways to enhance military and security cooperation between the two countries.
The Congolese Defense Minister and his accompanying delegation were accorded an official reception at the Ministry of Defense General Secretariat, where military bands played the national anthems of both countries.
The talks covered regional and international developments and their impact on security and stability in Africa, as well as mechanisms to expand areas of joint military cooperation.
Zaher highlighted the strong Egyptian-Congolese relations and stressed the importance of continued coordination and joint efforts to strengthen cooperation in defense fields.
Muadiamvita praised Egypt’s support for African issues and expressed his keenness to further coordinate on matters of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by the Armed Forces Chief of Staff Ahmed Khalifa and senior military officials from both countries.
