Egypt expresses condolences to South Korea over plane crash victims

CAIRO, Dec 29 (MENA) – Egypt expressed on Sunday deep condolences to friendly South Korea over the victims of Jeju Air plane that crashed while landing at Muan International Airport on Sunday, leaving dozens dead and wounded.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry expressed full solidarity with the South Korean government and people over this tragic incident.

Egypt wished speedy recovery to the injured.

At least 177 people were killed in the plane crash. Two survivors were pulled from the debris and taken to hospital.

No cause has been confirmed but the fire service says it believes a collision with birds and poor weather may be to blame.
