
Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid Saleh said economic relations between Egypt and Finland are entering an advanced phase of cooperation based on mutual interests and a long-term development vision.
In a statement on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones said the Egyptian–Finnish Business Forum brings together 20 major Finnish companies and aims to expand joint investments.
Farid noted that the forum serves as a practical platform to translate growing bilateral rapprochement into concrete investment partnerships and joint projects.
He added that the government prioritizes strengthening partnerships by improving the business environment to attract foreign direct investment and boost exports.
The minister highlighted opportunities for cooperation with Finland in transferring technology across key sectors, including manufacturing, telecommunications, healthcare, and renewable energy.
For his part, GAFI CEO Mohamed al-Gossaki underscored Egypt’s progress in administrative reform and digital transformation.
Meanwhile, Finnish Under-Secretary of State for. International Trade Jarno Syrjälä described Egypt as a key hub for Finnish investments in Africa.
Executives from companies including HMD Global, Huhtamaki, and Eagle Timber reviewed plans to transfer expertise to the Egyptian market in areas such as fintech, sustainability, and timber manufacturing.
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly is scheduled to attend the forum’s closing session, reaffirming the state’s support for expanding international economic partnerships.
