Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty received a phone call from Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar to discuss regional developments and efforts to restore security and stability.
The two ministers exchanged views on the rapidly changing situation in the region, stressing the need to reduce tensions, halt military operations and pursue political and diplomatic solutions to regional crises.
They also agreed to maintain close coordination and consultations in support of diplomatic efforts aimed at restoring stability and preventing further escalation.The conversation also addressed the Palestinian issue.
Abdelatty expressed deep concern over the deteriorating situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and condemned continued Israeli actions in the West Bank, Gaza and occupied East Jerusalem, warning that they undermine prospects for peace and the two-state solution.
Additionally, Abdelatty stressed the importance of implementing all phases of the US peace plan for Gaza to help sustain the ceasefire, ensure the full delivery of humanitarian aid and create the conditions needed to move forward with the next stages of the process.
