Egypt rejects failure to implement resolution clearing ME of WMDs

Head of the Egyptian delegation to the NPT Review Conference, which is currently held in New York, Hisham Badr said during the meeting, that Egypt can’t continue to accept the status of the current deadlock over the non-implementation of the 1995 resolution to evacuate the Middle East of weapons of mass destruction.

Bader added that Egypt has spared no effort to free the Middle East of nuclear weapons. Egypt used several avenues to achieve this goal either through the General Assembly of the United Nations or the International Atomic Energy Agency and through the review conferences. But none of these efforts produced significant results, he added.
