Egyptian agricultural exports hit 8.6 million tons in 2024

Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk announced that Egyptian agricultural exports have achieved an unprecedented record in 2024, exceeding 8.6 million tons.

This is an increase by over one million tons compared to 2023.

In a statement to the press, Farouk said local farmers and exporters were the key element in this significant rise in exports. He also commended the role of the Export Council for Agricultural Crops, the Egyptian Commercial Representation Service and the Egyptian Central Administration of Plant Quarantine and Egypt’s embassies abroad in making this achievement.

The minister’s statement was issued after he received a report from the quarantine administration on the country’s total agricultural exports during 2024.

According to the report, the list of the top agricultural exports includes: citrus fruits, fresh potatoes, fresh onions, grapes, fresh and dry beans, sweet potatoes, mangoes, fresh tomatoes, fresh garlic, fresh strawberries, guavas, and pomegranates.
