Egypt’s agricultural exports up to four million tons from January to June

The Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation announced Saturday that the volume of agricultural exports increased to more than four million tons from January 1 to June 29.

A report issued by the Central Plant Quarantine Administration on total agricultural exports recently said that agricultural exports amounted to 4.0179 million tons, rising by 15 percent over the same period of last year.

The most important agricultural exports for this period included citrus, potatoes, onions, strawberries, pomegranates, sweet potatoes, beans, beets, guavas, peppers, mangoes, garlic, grapes, peaches, and watermelons.

A statement from the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation said that the total agricultural exports of citrus reached 1,722,115 tons, in addition to the export of 619,762 tons of potatoes, ranking second in agricultural exports after citrus.

While 405,287 tons of fodder beet were exported, coming in the third place in exports, and onions ranked fourth in agricultural exports with a total of 151,471 tons.

Grapes ranked fifth with a total export of 111,481 tons, while exports of potatoes came in sixth place with a total of 21,968 tons.

Egypt’s exports of beans ranked seventh with a total of 19,568 tons, followed by strawberries with a total of 19,342 tons, while garlic ranked ninth in exports with a total amount of 16,429 tons.

Peach ranked tenth in agricultural exports, with a total of 10,185 tons, and guava ranked eleventh with a total of 8,935 tons.

Watermelon ranked twelfth with a total of 7,310 tons, while pomegranate ranked thirteenth in agricultural exports with a total of 6,538 tons.

Pepper ranked fourteenth in agricultural exports, with a total of 5,186 tons, and mango ranked last with a total of 768 tons.
