El Wazir opens Schneider Electric center for COP27 participants

Minister of Transport Kamel El Wazir inaugurated on Thursday Schneider Electric center for sustainability and digital transformation on the sidelines of the 2022 UN Climate Change Conference, COP27, currently held in Sharm El-Sheikh city.

 

The center will enable visitors and participants in the global climate summit to get acquainted with the company’s diverse, advanced technological solutions and its efforts in the sustainability field in relation to electric-vehicle models, smart cities, transportation solutions, solar energy and energy access, in addition to relevant areas related to human and social development, the Ministry of Transport said in a statement.

 

Wazir reviewed the transport ministry’s plan to use solar energy at main railway stations, as well as at the rooftops of workshops and government buildings.

 

He also talked about his ministry’s vision in laying the foundations for sustainable green transport.
