Explosion in Suez leaves no casualties

An explosion that rocked the front of the Al-Arbaeen Square fire station in Suez late Sunday has left no casualties, according to security sources.

State-run newspaper Al-Ahram said the explosion was caused by a packet of gunpowder thrown inside a garbage bin a few meters away from the fire station.

The explosion caused local residents to panic, while firemen rushed to close the station in fear of an impending armed attack.

Police forces rushed to the scene, imposing a security cordon around the area. The forces combed the area to find out the causes of the explosion.
