The funeral of former MP and Muslim Brotherhood leader Ismail Tharwat Abdel Fattah, who died Thursday, was held in Minya on Friday.
Abdel Fattah was accused of violent acts in Matay, Minya, following the Rabaa al-Adaweya sit-in dispersal. He was sentenced to death in absentia by the Cairo Criminal Court, before being arrested.
One of Abdel Fattah's relatives said he died from natural causes. He added that the former MP was sentenced to death two years ago and had been a fugitive ever since.
