Four men accused of storming Rafah Crossing released

Al-Arish prosecution released Saturday four men who had been arrested on charges of storming the Rafah Crossing.

The four men were arrested on Friday following an attack by masked men at the heavily guarded crossing earlier that day and accused of attempting to storm the crossing. Investigations revealed that the arrested men had nothing to do with the incident, after they continuously denied the accusations during interrogations, prosecutors said.

An extended security crackdown in Sinai against militants started over 15 days ago following a 5 August attack on a security checkpoint in Arish that resulted in the death of 16 soldiers and the injury of 7 others.
