Brace yourselves for a summer of Instajealously — the fashion world has officially gone on vacation. But as the stars kick back and enjoy the good life, their social media updates are gold for updating your summer beauty look. Today, we show you how to channel Jasmine Tooke’s sweet summery style.
The Victoria’s Secret Angel recently posted a photo of herself to Instagram proving that she’s fallen under the spell of the Snapchat butterfly filter of the moment. But that isn’t the only thing rendering this snap a vacation vibe.
Jasmine’s first major score here is her array of summery highlights, as the streaks of subtle blonde running through her dark tresses add the appearance of texture and depth, as well as drawing attention to her face, which is framed by lighter strands.
How to get the look
The model has opted for a smooth, matte base, so get rid of any unwanted shine with a product such as Cover FX’s new Custom Blot Drops (US$42). She has added a hint of peach blush to her cheekbones for a feminine look, so follow her lead and try Dior’s new Diorblush powder ($43), which includes the soft coral tone of ‘Cocktail peach.’
The focal point of Jasmine’s look is her eyes — we are loving her revival of winged eyeliner via the dainty flick extending out towards her brows. The key here is to avoid getting too heavy handed and to keep the look delicate but also use something suitable for hot weather, so opt for a soft pencil such as Clinique’s new High Impact Custom Black Kajal ($17), which has been formulated to resist smudging, sweat and humidity. Finish with a few coats of mascara and — if you’re feeling frivolous — a sweep of a bronze or nude eyeshadow such as the coppery brown and golden beige shades included in Chanel’s new palette Les 4 Ombres Empreinte du Désert ($65).
Last but not least, add a little sweetness to the look with a pop of pearly pink lip colour such as Dolce & Gabbana’s Classic Cream Lipstick ($34.50), containing intense pigments that retain moisture without feeling oily. The lipsticks are perfumed with the house’s signature rose petal scent and come in a range of nude and pink hues. For stockists see dolcegabbana.com.
