Moroccan journalist Ashraf Ben Ayad, known for his close ties to the Barcelona FC, announced that Egyptian international Hamza Abdelkarim will be signing on with Barcelona.
Ben Ayad wrote in a post on his X platform: “Hamza will sign with Barcelona until 2029. The official announcement is expected in the next few days.”
Abdelkarim is currently with the Egyptian national team at the 2026 World Cup and is expected to be on the bench for the Pharaohs’ opening match against Belgium.
Barcelona had previously signed Abdelkarim to their youth team in February on loan until the end of the current season.
