Health Ministry to provide 2nd coronavirus vaccine dose

The Ministry of Health and Population will start vaccinating citizens who failed to receive the second dose of the coronavirus vaccine, starting Friday, December 10, over two weeks.

They are being notified via text messaging; so far 370,000 text messages have been sent to them so far.

Official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health Hossam Abdel Ghaffar stressed the ministry’s keenness to raise vaccination rates to prevent severe infections from the virus, for the preservation of the public health of citizens.

Abdel Ghaffar pointed out that citizens will receive their late doses in the same health centers or units in which they received the first dose, stressing the importance of obtaining the second dose to ensure the formation of immune bodies against the virus and future variants.

He appealed to citizens to obtain the second dose of the vaccine on time as specified by the text messages sent by the ministry.

Abdel Ghaffar stressed providing the various types of vaccines including Sinopharm, Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, and Sputnik instructing citizens to continue to register for the vaccination on the ministry’s website: http://www.egcovac.mohp.gov. eg/
