Industry Minister witnesses signing of strategic cooperation protocol at Cairo university

Industry Minister Khaled Hashem witnessed on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Faculty of Engineering at Cairo University and Kings Valley Industrial Investment Company to provide sustainable technical and operational support for the Cairo University Racing Team (CURT), strengthening links between academic education and modern industrial applications.

The protocol, implemented under the supervision of the Industrial Modernization Center, aims to enhance students’ skills in electric vehicle engineering, design, manufacturing, testing and engineering innovation, while preparing qualified graduates to meet labor market demands.

Under the agreement, the company will sponsor the team’s engineering activities, including the development, design, manufacturing and testing of electric vehicles and support its participation in international Formula Student competitions in the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy, as well as local and international engineering events.

Hashem said the protocol reflects the state’s commitment to supporting student innovation and linking education and scientific research with industry needs.

He added that such partnerships are a key pillar of Egypt’s Industrial Strategy 2030 and contribute to building a modern industrial system based on knowledge and innovation.

The minister also affirmed the ministry’s support for the team as it prepares to represent Egypt at the Formula Student UK competition at Silverstone, England, from July 15 to 19, describing the participation as a reflection of Egyptian engineers’ capabilities in technology, engineering and electric vehicle manufacturing.
