The inflation rate in April increased by 1.8% recording 169.6 points more than March, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) said Wednesday.
The annual inflation rate increased by 31.5%, in comparison to 14.9% for the same month in 2022, the statement said.
The rise in the inflation rate in April is due to the increase of the index of purchases of food and beverages by 2.3%, it added.
