Justice Minister resigns

Justice Minister Ahmed Suleiman said Sunday that he had submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Hesham Qandil due to his inability to work in such an atmosphere.

Suleiman explained to Al-Masry Al-Youm that he would be unable to resume his work under such circumstances and expressed his wishes that a state of law would soon prevail and that a constitution would be written.

Suleiman refused to comment on the military's decision to topple President Mohamed Morsy in response to mass protests which swept Egypt on 30 June.
