A man fell to his death from his balcony on Saturday while trying to attach a Ramadan lantern (Fanous) to the ceiling in Beheira governorate.
The family of the victim reported the incident to the police, saying that the victim, an accountant, in his thirties, was admitted to Tanta University Hospital with broken ribs, pelvis and thighs; and internal bleeding in the abdomen. He died in hospital.
The victim’s brother said that while he was attaching the Ramadan lantern on the third floor, he lost balance and fell to the ground, causing him injury and death and did not accuse anyone of causing the incident.
The report of the health inspector said the cause of death was a sharp drop in blood circulation and fractures, with no criminal suspicion.
