Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb met on Sunday with Egyptian international expert Hani Azer to discuss various projects for tunnels currently being implemented by the government for the metro and the Suez Canal.
“We agreed to use the best technology and equipment with Egyptian hands,” Mehleb said, pointing out that Egyptian engineers and technicians will be trained in this specialty in order for Egypt to become the first Arab country that digs tunnels with its own manpower.
“We are also discussing partnership with consulting offices,” he said. “And we are meeting with Egyptian contracting companies to import the latest equipment.”
“We aim to deliver quality development projects and services in the shortest time,” he said.
For his part, Azer said global companies are willing to work with the Egyptian government and the private sector.
