Microbus drivers protest against traffic violation tickets

Dozens of microbus drivers went on strike in central Cairo on Wednesday, protesting against the number of traffic violation tickets issued by the Giza Traffic Department, and demanding that all outstanding tickets be cancelled.

Strikers managed to block the flow of traffic in central Cairo.

A security source described the protest as an act of thuggery, and said that military police were sent to break up the strike.
