Military production, irrigation ministers follow up on implementing water resources management projects

State Minister for Military Production Mohamed Salah al-din had a meeting on Tuesday 8/8/2024 with Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Hani Sweilem to discuss progress made so far to implement a number of water resources management projects.

During their meeting, Salah al-din said the Military Production Ministry’s policy is based on integration with the ministries, governorates, agencies and State bodies with the view to implementing national projects in a way that supports comprehensive and sustainable development strategies via benefiting from the technological, manufacturing and technical capabilities and human expertise in the companies and units affiliated to the ministry.

The meeting took up the implementation of a number of projects assigned to some military production companies; Helwan Engineering Industries Co. (HEIC), Qaha Chemical Industries Company, and Helwan Metal Equipment Company, for the benefit of the Water Resources and Irrigation Ministry.

There is a fruitful and greater cooperation between the two ministries to accomplish many joint projects to serve citizens, Salah el-din further noted.

For his part, the irrigation minister asserted the two ministers’ keenness on promoting bilateral cooperation to remove obstacles facing joint projects, along with achieving goals that will reflect positively on the water system service.

Sweilem stressed the importance of cooperation to carry out all projects undertaken by companies affiliated to the Military Production Ministry for the benefit of the Water Resources and Irrigation Ministry.

The meeting also took up progress made so far to finalize a number of canal rehabilitation projects implemented by the Military Production Ministry-affiliated companies.

They also reviewed the purchase and supply of submersible pump motors, submersible motor spare parts, electrical spare parts, and diesel generators for groundwater wells in the New Valley.

They also discussed the supply of spare parts, gears, supplies, valves, and surveillance cameras for lifting stations, affiliated to the Mechanical and Electrical Department.
