Minister: Environment sector witnesses unprecedented achievements during Sisi’s era

Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad said the environment sector in Egypt has witnessed an unprecedented boom during the era of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, who she said has placed environment and confronting its challenges on the Egyptian state’s priority agenda.

Fouad pointed out to efforts to improve the environment sector in Egypt, which she noted witnessed remarkable development in light of President Sisi’s interest, support and continued follow-up of environmental issues over the past 10 years; amid the political leadership’s unlimited support and its belief in the importance of integrating the environmental dimension into all development sectors of the Egyptian state.

This has made Egypt take rapid steps towards achieving sustainable development and enhancing opportunities for investment in environment, the minister added.

She noted that the Egyptian efforts would continue to achieve further successes in the environment file and green transition.
