A meeting will be held between the presidential council and the supreme body of the Nour Party Sunday, after which the party will decide whether or not it will compete in House of Representatives elections in April, said party spokesperson Nader Bakkar.
Bakkar said in a press statement that the party has concerns over the announced date of the elections, saying that different political parties should have agreed on the timing before elections were announced by the presidency.
Nour Party Secretary General Galal Morra also said on Saturday that political parties must work together to decide on standards and mechanisms to ensure the integrity of the elections.
Morra stressed that the party is striving for a healthy political climate where impartial and transparent elections can take place, calling on political forces to work to achieve the political stability necessary for free and fair elections.
