Sohag prosecutors summoned Abdallah al-Shoush and Omar al-Hawari, two Salafis who are charged with inciting the breaking of a bust of late President Nasser, which sits in front of the municipality headquarters.
Eyewitnesses said dozens of long-bearded Salafis in short galabeyas destroyed the bust on Saturday.
The municipality ordered the renovation of the bust and that it be returned to its original position.
