Security foils attempt to storm Central Security Camp in Aswan

Security forces foiled an attempt to break into a Central Security Forces camp in South Aswan by supporters of ousted President Mohamed Morsy.

The attackers were families of Brotherhood members who had been arrested after violent incidents broke out between Morsy supporters and police forces in Aswan following the dispersal of pro-Morsy sit-ins in Cairo and Giza last month.

The assailants were told their arrested sons were held at a Central Security Forces camp in Aswan.

Security forces fired tear gas and bullets in the air to disperse the crowd. No casualties were reported.

Security forces in Aswan have so far arrested 24 Brotherhood and Islamist elements due to the violence that erupted last month.
