Security intensified at Cairo Airport as gold shipment arrives

Security has been intensified at Cairo International Airport on Tuesday to secure the entry of 238 kilograms of gold excavated from the Sukari gold mine. The ore was being transferred to Canada for molding and selling in international markets.

A source at the airport said the gold was packed inside 14 consignments aboard a Dutch plane heading to Canada via Amsterdam. The source added that the shipment arrived two days ago at Marsa Alam.
