Taylor Swift’s remarkable past year has culminated in her being named the IFPI’s Global Recording Artist of the Year 2024.
This marks her fifth win – a historic feat – and her third consecutive year at the top.
The pop icon’s 2024 year has been nothing short of extraordinary, with her eleventh studio album, THE “TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT”, propelling her to victory in four additional IFPI categories: Global Album Chart, Global Vinyl Album Chart, Global Streaming Album Chart, and Global Album Sales Chart.
Taylor Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour wasn’t just a live spectacle; it ignited a global surge in fan engagement with her entire discography on streaming platforms.
This phenomenon manifested in the remarkable resurgence of albums like 1989 (Taylor’s Version), Midnights, folklore, evermore, and Lover, all securing spots in the Top 20 of IFPI’s 2024 Global Vinyl Album Chart, a clear indicator of her devoted fan-base.
This fifth Global Recording Artist of the Year Award, in the award’s 12th year, confirms Swift’s unparalleled reign.
The CEO of IFPI, Victoria Oakley, stated: “We are immensely proud to award the IFPI Global Recording Artist of the Year Award to Taylor Swift for the fifth time, as she continues to redefine the limits of global success.
“This has been a huge year for Taylor, and it has been incredible to see the extent to which fans all over the world are connecting with her superb catalogue of music.”
