Three extremists were killed by security forces, in clashes during a crackdown in central Sinai, security sources announced on Tuesday.
Security authorities received information about a hideout being used by extremists in al-Qassima area, in central Sinai.
Authorities responded by launching a crackdown targeting the hideout.
Clashes then followed between armed forces and extremists, leading to the killing of three suspected terrorists, and the injury of others, according to sources.
Security forces combed Arish-Qantara Sharq Road, as well as the area between Zare al-Khair village in Arish and the entrance of Beir al-Abd city. They were searching for bombs planted by terrorists.
