The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) announced that Egypt's trade deficit was reduced by US$ 1.1 billion during the year 2015.
CAPMAS added in its monthly bulletin that non-oil exports fell by 13 percent in January 2016 to reach $1.189 billion, compared to $1.366 billion in January 2015.
Non-oil imports declined by 25.9 percent to a record $3.759 billion in January, compared to $5.07 billion during the same month of 2015, the bulletin said.
Finished goods exports during the same period declined by 7.7 percent to record $736.5 million in January 2016, compared to $798 million in January 2015.
Half-finished goods exports, according to CAPMAS, declined by 29.7 percent to reach $245.4 million, compared to $349 million during the same period last year.
