Trade and Industry Minister Ahmed Samir discussed with his Turkish counterpart Omer Bolat ways of enhancing economic and trade ties between the two countries along with the latest global economic conditions.
The two sides also discussed the latest global economic conditions along with a host of issues of mutual interest.
This came on the sidelines of the two ministers’ participation in the proceedings of the fourth edition of the Turkey-Africa Economic and Business Forum, which is currently being held in Istanbul.
The meeting tackled preparations of the Turkish minister’s visit to Egypt on October 27-28 to attend 2nd International Manufacturing Convention & Exhibition (IMCE), according to a statement issued by the Trade and Industry Ministry on Friday 13/10/2023.
The Turkish minister will be accompanied by a delegation grouping a host of businessmen, who will hold bilateral meetings with their Egyptian counterparts to discuss ways of establishing joint investment projects, added the statement.
During the meeting, Samir said that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries reached about dlrs 7.1 billion in 2022.
Samir also extended thanks to his Turkish counterpart for inviting him to participate in the forum, which represents a perfect opportunity to meet with the representatives of the African countries with the Turkish side in order to exchange viewpoints on ways of boosting bilateral cooperation.
For his part, the Turkish minister said that the Egyptian-Turkish ties are moving in the right direction, affirming his country’s keenness on promoting bilateral ties with Egypt in the various spheres.
