The UNESCO Foundation in France honored the Egyptian fashion designer Hani el-Behairy for the second time in recognition of his distinction in the Paris Fashion Week.
He us also the only Egyptian to participate in its seasons for nearly 15 years, which contributed to the success of the “Oriental Fashion Show”.
During his ascent to the stage to be honored, Hana Ghezzar, a French-Algerian media presenter, commented, “Honoring el-Behairy as a pride for Arabs and Egypt”.
“He is Egypt’s pyramid in the field of international fashion.”
UNESCO also honored the name of the late Egyptian cosmetic expert, Mohamed al-Saghir, and his son, Mostafa received a prize in his behalf.
Behairy continued his global brilliance with a huge “Dévilée”, which caught the attention of international fashion makers and followers at the French Fashion Week.
“Paris Fashion Week 2023”, was held inside an ancient Paris hotel.
Behairy participated in the famous event with 35 soirée dresses and wedding dresses for the summer and spring of 2023, as the only Egyptian among the major houses of the international fashion industry, which includes “Dior”, “Chanel”, “Elie Saab”, “Valentino” and others.
Behairy has been unique for three consecutive years in designing the most expensive wedding dresses in the world, through which he proved the ability of Egyptian fashion makers to attract the attention of the world.
The first year dress was worn by the artist Yousra el-Lawzy, and its value amounted to US$ 5 million, and the second year’s dress was worn by the Lebanese star Nicole Saba. The was estimated at about LE 200 million, as it was entirely and manually studded with grains of free diamonds.
