A violent sandstorm hit 6th of October City west of Cairo on Wednesday, extending to the Cairo-Alexandria desert road and the Bahariya Oasis road.
Coupled with scorching temperatures, the storm caused some palm trees to fall down near a popular market in the city. Two vehicles also collided on the October-Fayoum road and traffic slowed down on the 26th July Corridor as a result of the tumultuous weather.
A big advertisement banner fell down on the Cairo-Alex road and a truck veered and hit a central island near the city’s industrial complex.
