Traffic resumed on the Cairo-Alexandria Agricultural Road after being closed for three hours due to a collision Wednesday.
Two vehicles carrying poultry had pulled over to the side of the road just north of the city after one broke down. Soon after, a truck loaded with wood smashed into both vehicles from behind, causing poultry to scatter across the road.
Traffic was temporarily rerouted until the wreckage was removed.
Witnesses at the scene filed a report and the Public Prosecution has ordered a technical team to investigate the cause of the crash.
