Qatar sends condolences over Sinai mosque attack

The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad al-Thani, offered his condolences to the Egyptian President, Abd al-Fattah al-Sisi, over the terrorist attack on North Sinai’ al-Rawda mosque on Friday.

Bin Hamad denounced the act, which killed 308 people while injuring another 128 in what is considered the most deadly terrorist attack in Egypt’s modern history.

Meanwhile, in a statement released by the country’s Foreign Minister on Friday, Qatar rejected under all circumstances violence and terrorism and condemned attacks on worshippers and civilians.

The minister sent his condolences to the families of the victims while wishing for a speedy recovery for the injured.

Egypt’s top prosecutor Nabil Sadek said on Saturday that between 25 and 30 armed men, raising the flag of the Islamic State, opened fire on mosque-goers from the building’s 12 windows, while also detonating an explosive device.
