CAIRO, Aug 6 (MENA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty, discussed over the phone on Tuesday with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan Ayman Safadi, the latest developments regarding the ongoing crisis in the Gaza Strip and its serious regional repercussions.
Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid stated that the two ministers agreed on the importance of continuing close coordination between Egypt and Jordan to address the escalating regional challenges.
The discussions between the ministers reaffirmed their identical views that the only way to halt the current escalation in the region is to reach a ceasefire in Gaza and allow humanitarian aid to enter the strip. This should be followed by taking the necessary steps to address the root causes of the crisis and intensify efforts to establish an independent Palestinian state, added the spokesman.
Abdelatty highlighted the region’s instability and the increasing risks of expanding the conflict, which could lead the region to the brink of disaster, as a direct result of the severely negative consequences of the ongoing war in Gaza and the international community’s continued failure to pressure Israel to stop its aggressions against the Palestinian people.
The spokesperson explained that the two ministers agreed on the need for continued joint coordination between both sides to work together to ensure the security and stability of the region and its peoples.(MENA)
