FM holds talks with EU, Arab ministers on regional crisis

Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a series of phone calls with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, and officials from the European Commission to discuss regional developments and ways to reduce escalation.

During the talks, they addressed the current military escalation, stressed the need to intensify efforts for immediate de-escalation through dialogue and diplomatic channels to avoid further instability.

For his part, Abdelatty affirmed that Egypt is in continuous contacts with regional partners to support negotiations between the United States and Iran aimed at easing tensions.

He also reaffirmed Egypt’s rejection of attacks targeting Gulf countries and Jordan, confirming Cairo’s support for their security and stability.

Meanwhile, European officials said that the Egyptian economy has shown resilience in dealing with regional challenges and external shocks. All sides agreed to continue coordination to support de-escalation and stability in the region.
