Ahly football club accepted on Monday the resignation of the coaching crew, led by first team manager Hossam al-Badri.
Al-Badri submitted his resignation on Sunday after Ismaily club beat Ahly 3-1 in the 11th Egyptian Premier League match.
An official source in Ahly said the coaching crew will be temporarily headed by either Fathi Mabrook, manager of the Ahly youth team, who has trained the first team before, or Abdel Aziz Abdel Shafi, manager of Ahly Youth Sector.
Another source said Hassan Hamdy, club president, had been preparing for this scenario in light of public dissatisfaction with Ahly and deteriorating scores. The source added that Hamdy has reviewed the CVs of many coaches and will announce a successor soon.
Al-Badry started training Ahly after the departure of the Portuguese coach Manuel José who enabled Ahly to win 19 championships.
Al-Badry is reported to be the worst coach Ahly has had.
Ahly had played badly since beginning of the season. It lost three games in the African Champions League, drew twice, and won three games. It was also beaten by the Tunisian Esperance at the CAF Champions League semi-final.
Ahly remains in second place in the Egyptian Premier League, after gaining just 18 points, only 6 points away from Zamalek club.
