Alaa and Gamal, sons of deposed president Hosni Mubarak, who are jailed pending investigation into charges of illicit gains, have disclosed to prosecutors the figures in their bank accounts, according to unnamed sources.
Prosecutors were shocked at the high figures they mentioned.
Alaa is charged with manipulating the stock exchange in his favor, while Gamal is charged with abusing his father’s power and accruing a fortune by illegal means.
