The Muslim Brotherhood praised Sufi movements Wednesday for deciding not to participate in this week's Friday demonstration in Cairo's Tahrir Square.
Twenty-six political groups announced on Wednesday they would postpone the protest until the following week to better organize themselves and prepare an iftar for protesters to break their fast.
Sufi movements disagreed on the postponement and the Azmiyah Order announced it would participate in the protest in defiance of the Supreme Council of Sufi Orders' decision.
Thirty-three political groups have called for a massive protest in Tahrir Square on Friday, 12 August to demand the establishment of a civil state in Egypt.
The call came in response to a large protest staged by the Muslim Brotherhood and Salafi movements on 29 July to assert the supremacy of Islamic law.
The Brotherhood statement also said the decision would help unify national and political forces and help the revolution move forward.
