CAIRO, Jan 1 (MENA) – Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production Mohamed Zaki has approved an announcement on accepting a new batch of conscripts, who are due to join the army in April 2024.
At a press conference on Monday, Head of the Conscription Department Maj. Gen. Mohamed Sobhi said the applicants will be received as of January 3.
Applicants must submit a photocopy of their National ID card; military service identification number; and educational certificates.
Conscription is compulsory in Egypt for males of ages between 18 and 30. All Egyptian men who are eligible for compulsory military service must serve for a period between one to three years, which is decided based on the level of education attained. (MENA)
