Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly lauded on Saturday the important role played by Schneider Electric company in the power sector in Egypt over the past few years, saying the company is an important partner to the Egyptian government and is highly appreciated by the electricity minister.
Madbouly made the remarks during his meeting with the company’s Executive Vice-President for International Operations, Manish Pant, on the sidelines of the Egypt-EU Investment Conference.
Talks tackled opportunities for localizing components of the power sector, including components of networks and control centers.
Madbouly said the work team of Schneider company has proved over the past years how it is an efficient, reliable and strong partner in the electricity generation and distribution domains.
He expressed hope that the company will expand in localizing the industry of electricity system components to secure growing needs of major development projects across the country, including the new land reclamation projects that require strong power generators and transformers.
He also referred to the possibility of cooperating with the company in reducing power waste in a way that will help ease burden on the national power grid.
Pant expounded the company activities and the technologies it uses to strengthen the power sector in Egypt, saying such technologies are used by more than 2,000 small and medium-sized companies, and pointing out that the company is working for merging these companies into value chains to improve their potential.
He also reviewed the company’s plan to localize components of electricity utilities to be used in local projects or exported to neighboring countries
