Clashes erupted yesterday between Mansoura University engineering students belonging to the Muslim Brotherhood and the university’s management, after staff attempted to break into a photo exhibition titled "Jerusalem is my Doctrine."
The university administration decided to refer the director of engineering establishments for investigation because "she was unable to stop the exhibitions held by the Muslim Brotherhood."
In Ismailia, more than 200 students from the Suez Canal University’s Faculty of Medicine protested at the dean’s office against the alleged beating of one of their colleagues by the university hospital’s security guards.
In Monufiya, security maintained a strong presence around humanities faculties in Shebin el-Kom for the second consecutive day, fearing students would continue their protests.
Meanwhile, investigations of arrested students continued until yesterday morning. The students were charged with belonging to a banned group, possessing anti-regime leaflets, resisting security forces, and assembling and protesting without proper permission.
