Egypt’s Minister of Defense Mohammed Zaki to appoint new army spokesperson

Egyptian Minister of Defense Mohammed Zaki on Sunday approved the appointment of  Colonel Gharib Abdel-Hafez the spokesperson for the armed forces, succeeding Tamer al-Refai.

Hafez was born in April 1978 and graduated from the military college in July 1999.

He graduated from the Basic Parachute Squad, the Thunderbolt teacher’s band and Intelligence Officers Training Course, and received a master degree from Command and Staff College.

He also enrolled in the Early Leadership Preparation Course for Distinguished Officers, the command and control mechanism and computer science course in China, the international course for battalion leaders in Germany, Basic course for information and communication with the public opinion of NATO, Strategic Studies and National Security Course, Course makers and decision-making at the Nasser Higher Military Academy, and Crisis Management and Negotiation Course.

Hafez worked in all the imperative functions of the signal weapon, and in the Military media field.
