The Egyptian Premier League has set the date for the Cairo derby match between Al-Ahly and Zamalek, postponed from the 31st round of the Premier League, to July 13 at Cairo Stadium, 8:30 pm.
Zamalek will conclude its league matches on July 16, facing Pharco, before preparing to compete in the King Salman Club Cup, the “Arab Club Championship Cup”, which Saudi Arabia will host starting from July 27.
Zamalek will be in the fourth group, which includes Al-Nasr, Al-Shabab and Union Sportive Monastirienne.
Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi denied reports that there is pressure on Al-Ahly to sell the club to investors.
During an interview with Ahmed Moussa’s TV show “Ala Massoulity” (On My Responsibility) on Monday evening, Sobhi said: “These are malicious rumors. The two pillars (Ahly and Zamalek SC) of Egyptian football must be preserved.”
He added that there are ongoing amendments in the Sports Law regarding the provisions of investments in clubs.
