Flights between Frankfurt and Sharm el-Sheikh to resume in October

Passenger flights between Frankfurt and Sharm el-Sheikh will be resumed starting October, said Yasser Jaheen, deputy director of Sharm el-Sheikh Airport, on Wednesday.
Flights are to resume at a rate of one per week in the first instance, said Jaheen, re-establishing passenger services that were halted after a Russian plane crash in Sinai in October 2015, according to MENA.

Since then, several countries have been working with Egypt to ensure that improvements to air travel security arrangements were in place, particularly at Egyptian airports.

Jaheen said that the decision to resume flights was made by the German government after Egypt improved security measures at Sharm el-Sheikh airport.
The first German flight to head for Sharm el-Sheikh will be SM3334, said director of Air Cairo airline in Sharm el-Sheikh Mohamed Abbas.
