Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said during a meeting in London with President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Odile Renaud-Basso that the Egyptian government remains committed to continuing its economic reform program to achieve sustainable and inclusive growth.

He called for further expansion of the bank’s activities in these priority sectors.
The meeting also addressed the economic impact of ongoing military escalation in the region. Abdelatty said Egypt’s approach to current challenges is based on securing energy supplies, strengthening food security, preserving fiscal discipline and taking proactive measures to reduce the economic effects of regional crises and maintain financial stability.
For her part, Renaud-Basso praised the economic and structural reforms implemented by the Egyptian government, saying they had strengthened financial and monetary stability, improved the investment climate and supported economic empowerment and social protection efforts.
She added that the Egyptian economy has shown resilience in the face of regional tensions, helped by structural reforms and a flexible exchange rate system, while also commending Egypt’s regional role in addressing shared challenges and promoting sustainable development.
