Former president’s health is stable, says medical source

The health of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has stabilized, said a medical source at Sharm al-Sheikh International Hospital.

The atmosphere at the hospital, where Mubarak is detained pending investigations over charges of corruption and murdering protesters, is now filled with uncertainty over the date on which he is to be transferred to Tora prison.

On Tuesday, Attorney General Abdel Meguid Mahmoud referred Mubarak and his two sons, Gamal and Alaa, along with Hussein Salem, a businessman close to the Mubaraks, to criminal court. The date for the start of the trials has yet to be set.

Mubarak’s transfer to Tora has been repeatedly postponed due to varying reports on the state of his health. A health official earlier this week said that Mubarak's health was adversley affected by fears of public hostility towards him.
